Data Scientist, AI Listing Platform

We are currently looking for a Data Scientist to join our AI Listing platform team within the Supply domain. The AI Listing platform team is responsible for improving the listing experience and enriching listing metadata with the help of machine learning and AI.

As a data scientist, you will be responsible for contributing to building and scaling a service that leverages internal and external large language/convolutional ML models to better understand our content. You will be responsible for training, fine-tuning and maintaining new and existing models, discovering ways to make performance and accuracy improvements and creating new features based on ML.

You will be working alongside other data scientists and backend engineers, responsible for the integration of the models. This is a high-impact role where your work will directly contribute to the success of our AI-powered features and help shape the future of listing experiences on our platform.

• Analytics Engineers are responsible for data curation – translating data needs from stakeholders into architecting, building and maintaining efficient & reliable data models and pipelines.
• Decision Scientists are responsible for actionable insights, identifying and sizing opportunities, and automated tools that increase the quality of product and business decisions by applying statistical methods and data-driven decision-making.
• Data Scientists are responsible for identifying algorithmic opportunities, ensuring those opportunities are addressed optimally, and designing, developing, and maintaining production-grade statistical and machine learning algorithms.

• Create and improve machine learning products focusing on vision/text understanding
• Contribute state-of-the-art knowledge about machine learning algorithms to ensure the competitiveness of Vinted through technology
• Work with Decision Scientists to conduct experiments on new machine learning features, both offline and in customer-facing A/B tests
• Assist the Engineers with the operationalisation of the machine learning products
• Assist the Product Manager with the estimation of opportunity sizes for machine learning initiatives
• Participate in the planning and monitoring of the subdomain projects
• Participate in domain-level initiatives on machine learning and AI

• Have a strong technical background through a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Have hands-on first experience with developing and deploying machine learning algorithms, ideally in the area of computer vision or LLMs, gathered in a product company
• Well-versed in Python and SQL, BigQuery
• Have a structured, meticulous way of working when trying out different approaches towards a set goal
• Be a conscious team player who understands when their work touches that of other team members and proactively aligns with them
• Solid written and spoken English
• Advantage: Experience with deploying successful computer vision solutions in production
• Advantage: Experience with fine-tuning and deployment of large language models in production settings
• Advantage: Experience with MLOps (production data pipelines, deployment and inference at scale, monitoring)
• Advantage: Good at explaining details of machine learning methods to lay audiences

The salary range for this position is € 3,200 - € 4,333 gross per month.
