Director AI & Data Science

Novartis ambition is to be a recognized leader in Data, Analytics, AI & Platforms (DAP). The DAP group seeks a highly motivated AI & Data Science Director to manage the lifecycle of novel commercial AI and Data Science products. This role is aimed to enable & manage AI & Data Science solutions for international, region and countries (IRC) to support and drive the commercial activities.

This role works in partnership with Data, Analytics and Marketing Platforms teams, other Commercial Launch Strategy (CLS) teams, International, Region & Countries (IRC), Strategy & Growth (S&G), Data, Digital & IT (DDIT), Business Solutions International (BSI), and others to scale impactful and valuable AI & Data Science solutions across the commercial value chain of Novartis.

This role is responsible for designing, building, deploying and operating commercial AI products (e.g. dynamic targeting, micro-segmentation, call planning, e2e content engine, next best action, A-B testing). This role requires strong understanding and experience in AI, GenAI, ML solutions from product development to operations. Responsible for E2E deliverables of AI and Data Science solutions for CLS and IRC.

Responsible for E2E AI & Data Science products lifecycle, capability building, resource prioritization, budgeting and planning. Responsible for monitoring business values and outcomes of AI & Data Science solutions. This role is expected to keep abreast of the latest thinking and best-in-class practices for AI & Data Science solutions within the industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for E2E design and deliverables of AI and Data Science solutions for CLS and IRC.
• Manage AI & Data Science solutions that support data-driven decision-making by innovatively leveraging data and technologies to provide objective, actionable and strategic insights on business performance and opportunities
• Responsible to build, deploy and operate commercial AI and Data Science solutions.
• Work closely with country data and analytics teams to carefully customize the AI & Data Science for local needs while preserving standardization for implementing AI & Data Science at scale and speed
• Partner with Data, Analytics Marketing Platforms teams, other CLS teams, IRC, S&G, DDIT, BSI, and other commercial teams to identify key opportunities and issues, manage AI and Data Science solutions, and translate the solutions and outcomes to business partners to drive tangible business impacts.
• Responsible to plan and manage budget, resources, timelines of the AI and Data Science solutions lifecycles and change management.

Essential Requirements

• Graduate degree, master's in a quantitative field (Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, etc.).
• 8 years of experience in data analytics, marketing science, or a similar role.
• 8 years of Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Healthcare in analytics/AI.
• Experience in AI/ML/GenAI algorithm and product development, a plus with unstructured Data, And / OR Knowledge graphs applications.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end pharma value chain (Discovery, Development and Commercialization process) and experience with field analytics, marketing and sales Analytics.
• Experience with Agile ways of working.

Desirable Requirements

• Ability to independently conduct various advanced analytics on pharma commercial data,
• Experience in building AI and Data Science solutions embedded in marketing platforms such as, CRM, SFMC, Web ecosystems, social media, etc.
